A
ntaresia stimsoni orientalis

Central stimpsons python.
New to us and quite uncommon in the hobby. We acquired an F1 pair some time ago and hope to breed them for the first time in 2012.

For now, these guys are sooooo relaxed! They do hide alot, but that might be because our female looks to be gravid (nov. 2011). They're eating like pigs!
Temperament is quite laid back, but also easily spooked...

Yhi en Bahloo
Yhi and Bahloo have a different story, actually being linked through their dreamtime tellings. These guys are our first  Antaresia (stimsoni orientalis).
Yhi is involved in many dreamtime stories, basically embodying the sun itself, beginning of all life on earth. The story that convinced us into going for these names is as follows;
Yhi, the sun, courted Bahloo, but he refused her advances. The myth says that this is why the sun chased the moon across the sky. Yhi threatened the spirits who held up the sky that if they let him escape down to earth, she would plunge the world into darkness.

Do know, this is a very short version of the dreamtime story. The actuall telling also includes many attemps of Yhi’s jealous actions and Bahloo sneaking away to create children.
One more reason why we hope these animals will live up to their names!
